Man Found Run Over in Wilson County

KENLY, N.C. — A man was found run lying in a driveway, run over by a car and critically injured Sunday, Wilson County Sheriff Wayne Gay said.

Deputies found Rosario Moya, who age was unknown, in a dirt driveway at 8765 N.C. 42, Gay said. Tire tracks were on his clothes, and he appeared to have been dragged 20 to 30 feet, Gay said.

Residents at the home heard a commotion and found Moya on the ground about 7 a.m. One of them was a doctor and helped Moya until paramedics arrived, Gay said.

Deputies had information that a white car was involved, but no other description, the sheriff said.

Moya was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.  Detectives who had gone to the hospital said they did not believe Moya's injuries were life-threatening.
