Restaurant Owned by Marc Basnight Catches Fire
Authorities are investigating a fire at a restaurant owned by the leader of the state Senate.

NAGS HEAD, N.C. — Authorities said a restaurant owned by Marc Basnight, president pro tem of the state Senate, suffered extensive damage in an overnight fire.
According to authorities in Nags Head, the fire started at around 1 a.m. Tuesday at Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe. The cause of the firewas unknown.
Investigators said no one was inside when the fire broke out, and no one was hurt as firefighters from Nags Head and nine other departments fought it.
Officials said damage at the restaurant is estimated to exceed $1 million.
