Cary Police Officer Released from Hospital

CARY — A Cary police officer who was seriously injured in a car accident nine months ago is finally home. Capt. Brad Hudson, a 13-year veteran of the force, was released fromWakeMedWednesday.

Following the accident, Hudson and his family received an outpouring of support from the community and from his fellow officers.

Hudson returned home Wednesday afternoon to find his fellow police officers waiting for him.

"It's symbolic of how this whole thing has been," says Hudson. "There's been an outpouring of love and support. When I came around the corner and looked in the driveway it was full of people, it was very moving."

Hudson lost a foot in the accident. He plans to be fitted with a prosthesis and return to work.
