"It petrifies me," said Julie Bauers, who lives in the North Haven neighborhood, next to the Horace Williams runway. She says she and her neighbors are concerned about the number of airplanes flying in and out of the small airport.
"We were originally told when we moved in here, that the only traffic that moves in and out of this airport was related to UNC and Duke transplant operations," says Bauers, "that's not the case at all."
Police report that the plane involved in the crash belongs to theChapel Hill Flying Club.
This is the third crash at the airport in the past year and a half. TheFAAsays they have no idea what caused it; they are just beginning their investigation.
