CARY — Soon there will be more than one venue in the Triangle for outdoor concerts and special events.
Cary town leaders, developers and community members broke ground today on a new, world- class amphitheater at Regency Park.
The $15 million amphitheater will seat close to 10,000 concertgoers.
The facility, located on Regency Parkway off Tryon Road, should be finished by next summer.
Regency Park has been a popular site for summer concerts and an annual Fourth of July celebration. People bring blankets and lawn chairs, and the performers entertain from a modest band shell.
