Classic Cars to Be Auctioned Off at Fairgrounds

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — If you like antique cars, you will want to be at the state fairgrounds Friday night and Saturday morning.

Almost 300 cars will be auctioned. Classics from the 1930s to the 1970s, most of them from Triangle auto dealer Mike Leith's private collection, will be sold.

The entire collection is valued at $6 million.

"You don't have to be a multi-millionaire. Anybody can bid. It's open to the public. About 80 cars will sell regardless of the price, and we'll have cars as low as $3,000 $4,000 each," said auctioneer Mitchell Kruse.

The show is in the Jim Graham Building, and tickets are $7.
