Cameron Crazies Set to Watch the Games on the Big Screen

Posted Updated

DURHAM — There are fans, and there are big fans, and then there are Crazies, Cameron Crazies. Even with Duke on the road, their home court is going to be rocking.

"The fact that the women got in is huge. I think it will do a lot for women's games next year. [They'll] just get bigger home crowds coming," said one student.

Students are hoping two more banners will be hanging from the rafters in Cameron Indoor Stadium Tuesday morning.

Friday, students will file into Cameron to watch the Duke women take on Georgia on the 18 x 24 big screen.

"I think that if things go well tonight, it could be exciting," said Duke sophomore Tori Taylor.

It is a student-only function Friday. Faculty and staff are not allowed.

"The big screen TV is going to be set up in front of the end zone so that's going to take out some of the seating. The floor will be available for use, but we did want to give priority to students," said Keith Lawrence of the Duke University News Service.

The students must have an ID to get in. Faculty and staff will be allowed to attend the bonfires if the teams win the championships.
