DURHAM — Durham police say the so called "Freezer Bandit" is behind bars. They made the arrest Saturday afternoon at an apartment in Durham.

Abdul Rasheed allegedly terrorized employees at restaurants all over the Triangle.

Police say the robber would arrive at closing time with a mask on his face and a gun in his hand. He would then rob the store and lock the employees in the freezer.

Police say he robbed at least three restaurants along Highway 15-501 in Durham, and several others in Raleigh and Cary.

Saturday night, police say employees do not need to be afraid when they close up.

Isaac Navarro, a Fuddruckers restaurant manager in Durham, will not forget the fear he felt when an armed robber showed up at his store.

"What I was thinking was, is he going to kill us and leave us in the freezer or what? You really can't think when somebody's pointing a gun in your face," he said.

Rasheed is being held on a million dollar bond. He's has been charged with four counts of armed robbery and 21 counts of kidnapping.

Rasheed is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.
