No reports of injuries. U.S. 17 closed. BRUNSWICK=-- Extensive flooding, fallen trees and blocked roadways. Bridges to island communities closed. Roof ripped off Columbia-Brunswick Hospital in Supply, about 30 evacuated. At least five homes with significant damage in Calabash. Roof blown off a bank in Sunset Beach. No reports of injuries. 100 people in shelters as of 8 a.m. N.C. 133, N.C. 211 and N.C. 17 closed. CAMDEN=-- Some power outages. CARTERET=-- Winds gusting up to 65 mph. Heavy rain about 8 a.m. in Morehead City. 150-foot section of the Iron Steamer Pier ripped away. The Indian Beach Pier lost a 100-foot section. Minor flooding. Electrical lines down and widespread power outages. The National Weather Service reported that several homes in Emerald Isle were extensively damaged by the wave action. No reports of injuries. U.S. 70 closed. CRAVEN=-- Home in New Bern blown off foundation by tornado spawned by Bonnie. At least eight other homes in the same subdivision suffered significant wind damage. Minor damage to beach homes along Wrightsville Beach, with flood waters 18 inches deep standing in some homes and businesses. Section of windows blown in at New Hanover High School. Cable antenna tower blown over in Seabreeze. Siding and shingles ripped off beach houses at Kure Beach. No reports of injuries. Less than 500 at three shelters. ONSLOW=-- Steady rain. Road flooding. About 375 people in shelter as of 10 a.m. 85 percent of county without power Two suspected tornadoes touched down in wooded areas, felling trees. Heavy flooding along creeks, rivers and sound. All roads are open. PASQUOTANK=-- Steady winds between 25 and 40 mph at 11 a.m. Some flooding near causeway bridge and Pasquotank River, some smaller roads. About 100 people in shelter. PENDER=-- Trees downed on roadways by strong winds. No reports of injuries. About 130 people in two shelters. Minor structural damage at Topsail Beach. Minor structural damage, some dune damage in Surf City. Surf City residents may return after 7 a.m. Friday. PITT=-- Gusts reported up to 50 mph. State of emergency called for county. About 800 people in five shelters as of 10 p.m. About 50 people evacuated from Hopkins Park subdivision in Greenville because of flooding. Several roads flooded and closed but all of them are secondary roads. No reports of injuries. Portions of county received up to 12 inches of rain from storm. TYRRELL=-- Tornadoes confirmed in town of Gum Neck and on N.C. 94. Several storage buildings destroyed and two houses damaged by tornadoes. Less than 100 people without electricity. All roads still open. No reports of injuries. The county has no shelters and about 3,700 residents remain in their homes. WASHINGTON=-- About 3 inches of rain has fallen. No significant structural damage as of 10:30 a.m. Tornado touched down and damaged house in Wenona community. Rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches with local amounts of over 10 inches fell across a large part of eastern North Carolina overnight. Continuing heavy rain was expected mainly east of New Bern.
