DURHAM — A special prosecutor from Johnston County will handle the case of a Durham dentist charged with DWI.
Michael Beam has been assigned to the case.
In September Judge Craig Brown dropped DWI charges against Kenneth Podger in a hallway deal.
Later, the judge changed his mind, reinstated the charges and stepped aside from the case.
A first hearing is scheduled this week.
