Three Indicted In Slaying Of Navy Reservist

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A grand jury on Tuesday indicted a Johnston County woman charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of her husband.

Raleigh police say Monique Berkley admits that she plotted to kill her Navy reservist husband, Paul Berkley, with the help of her boyfriend, Andrew Canty, and his friend, Latwon Johnson.

Investigators say Berkley lured her husband to a Raleigh park where he was shot and killed. She was shot in the shoulder.

The Wake County grand jury also indicted Canty and Johnson on first-degree murder charges.
