Detectives from Cumberland County went to Myrtle Beach. Sources there said that police in Myrtle Beach recovered the car the girls were in that night.
Police also questioned two suspects possibly in connection with the murders.
After identifying the women late Monday night, investigators went to work interviewing family members, friends and boyfriends.
"She had a lot going for her, she was smart, absolutely beautiful and got along well with her peers," said Verna Hash, Tracy Lambert's former teacher.
But Lambert's teachers say she chose not to finish school. She dropped out of Southview High shortly after Christmas. Lambert's mother says the 18-year-old became a dancer to earn extra money. It's believed Lambert and the second victim, 25-year-old Susan Raye Moore, worked at an adult entertainment club.
"There has not been anyone that has been singled out as of yet. We are still compiling evidence and talking to all acquaintances of the two victims," explained Sgt. Stephen McLamb of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Moore and Lambert were found around 7 a.m. Monday. Investigators say just hours earlier one of the women had a phone conversation. For that reason detectives believe the two women were shot and killed shortly before they were found.
Detectives found a vehicle that belongs to Susan Moore's former boyfriend. She was the last person seen driving the car. It is a two-door, 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix, silver or gray in color. The North Carolina tag number is KNN-2412. Investigators are not saying for sure that the car was used in the murders, but they want to check it for any evidence.
