APEX — Wake County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a missing middle school assistant principal. Investigators say Reubin McNeill was last seen leaving the Oak Grove A.M.E. Zion church in Harnett County at 9:00 Tuesday night.

McNeill was on his way to the bank to make a deposit for the church. Investigators are looking through McNeill's credit card and bank records for anything suspicious.

McNeill was promoted to principal of the Lufkin Road School in Apex this year. He was the assistant principal at Apex Middle School last year.

Investigators say McNeill failed to show up at an appointment Wednesday. That's when McNeill's associates became worried.

McNeill was driving his 1996 dark green Ford Explorer at the time. The sport-utility vehicle has a Phi Beta Sigma sticker in the back window and is registered with the license plate EVF-8306.

The search for McNeill was expected to move from the ground to the air on Thursday. More information about the case is expected to be released during a 2:00 p.m. news conference.

Anyone with information about Reubin McNeill should call the Wake County Sheriff's Department.
