DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham City Council on Thursday approved plans for an immigration office in southern Durham.

The office, which will be on Roycroft Drive near the Wake County line, will make it easier for Triangle residents to apply for green cards, visas and citizenship.

For years, people have had to go to Charlotte for those services.

The office is expected to open within the next year.
