<b>RALEIGH</b> — An NC State math professor is in serious condition Wednesday, after being severely beaten on campus.

Sources close to the investigation say a colleague found the teacher in her Harrelson Hall office around 7:00 p.m.  Investigators say she is in serious condition at Wake Medical Center.

There is no word on a suspect or a motive in the attack.  The SBI and  university public safety officers are investigating.
