Duke Student-Athlete Found Dead in Dorm Room

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating the death of a Duke University student-athlete who was found dead, the university said Tuesday.

In an e-mail to students, Larry Moneta, vice president of public affairs at Duke, said Christopher Lloyd Sanders, 20, of New Haven, Conn., was found dead early Tuesday morning in his room in Kilgo Quad and that initial indications suggest that no foul play was involved.

Sanders' body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill to determine the cause of death.

Sanders, a junior studying history and visual arts, was a diver on the Duke swim team and a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
