SIMS — A single-car accident killed two people and injured two others Saturday night near the Nash-Wilson County line.
The accident occurred at 9:45 p.m. Investigators say the vehicle ran off the right shoulder, came back on the road and then ran back off the left side of the highway and overturned on Highway 264-East near the Sims exit.
Officers said the driver, Benjamin Lee Edmondson, 16, of Stantonsburg and the front seat passenger, Rebekah Lynn Anders, 16, of Wilson, both died in the crash. Investigators said they were not wearing seatbelts.
The two other passengers both received serious injuries. Their identities have not been released.
