DURHAM, N.C. — Fire crews responded to a blaze at a Durham motel.
Officials say a fire broke out around 5 a.m. Thursday at the Duke Inn near the intersection of Redwood Road and Interstate 85.
Multiple fire departments are on the scene.
Fire officials say the motel was abandoned in 2004. Authorities do not believe anyone was inside of the building.
There are no fire hydrants in the area, so water had to be hauled in to handle the fire.
