State Revenue Dept. Seeks Temporary Workers For Tax Season

RALEIGH, N.C. — The

North Carolina Department of Revenue

is hiring for the 2006 tax season.

    The department is now accepting applications for temporary full-time positions, paying $9.08 per hour, beginning approximately Jan. 17.

    Duties include opening and sorting tax returns, verifying and screening tax information and filing.

    Applicants should have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, PC/keyboarding experience and/or 10-key calculator skills. An alpha-numeric typing test will be administered for data entry positions.

    All applicants must be in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service and undergo a criminal background check.
