Wayne County Officials "Holding Their Own" Against Flooding

Posted Updated

GOLDSBORO — Wayne County emergency management officials continue battling the flooding Neuse River.

"We're holding our own," is the word from one official.

The river isn't expected to crest until Sunday at 23 feet, and already a number of families have evacuated the Mar Mac area. More may have to follow. Eight roads remain closed and high water warnings are posted on four others.
