An ATF spokesman told WRAL he could not release any additional information, but said there would be more information released Friday. Raleigh police would not comment.
Agents searched the home of Larry and Valda Anderson, who live at 7613 Pinewild Court in the Clandon Forest neighborhood off Sawmill Road.
The agents served a federal search warrant related to the discovery of two pipe bombs at an apartment complex on Sandy Forks Road several weeks ago.
"The bombs were meant to go off," Thomas Ferguson, the resident agent in charge of the BATF in Raleigh, toldThe News & Observer.
Residents of the Clandon Forest subdivision who were asked to leave their homes at 6:30 p.m. Thursday were allowed to return about 8:30 p.m.
