Wake Teachers, Staff Invited to Apply for Grants
Wake County public school teachers and other full-time support staff are invited to apply for a Food for Thought grant from Wake Education Partnership, the group announced Tuesday.
Posted — UpdatedTeachers can apply for the grants, which will be awarded in amounts up to $2,000, through March 28 on the partnership’s Web site at www.WakeEd.org.
Since 1983, Wake Education Partnership has awarded more than $1 million in grants to Wake County teachers and staff through the Food for Thought program.
This year, the group is offering instructional enhancement grants that focus on more rigorous approaches to student success through collaboration.
These grants are designed to allow four or more teachers time to plan and reflect with colleagues. The goal is to implement changes in teaching behavior that will positively affect student success and engagement in the classroom.

Wake Ed is an advocacy organization dedicated to making world-class schools possible in Wake County through business and community involvement. Programs for 2006-07 focus on retaining effective teachers, developing effective education leaders, and ensuring healthy schools for all students.
