Suspect Caught After High-Speed Chase Through Wake County

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Deputies got their man, despite a high speed chase across Wake County.

Authorities say the chase started when Travis Brooks tried to avoid a license plate checkpoint in Zebulon. The 20-minute pursuit hit speeds of 90 miles an hour, as Brooks and deputies traveled through Zebulon, Wendell, Knightdale and Raleigh.

Brooks hit another car, but didn't slow down until the chase ended in a subdivision off Creech Road south of Raleigh.

Brooks faces several charges including hit and run.
