Barber's Family Hopes To Generate New Leads In Homicide Case

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Family members of a slain Fayetteville barber hope that they can help investigators find the person responsible for the homicide.

Police have no new leads in the Nov. 19 slaying of Creg Johnson, who was found shot to death inside The Line Up Barber Shop on Yadkin Road. Authorities believe Johnson was working late when someone walked through the door and killed him.

"It's just been horrible for us, you know, because ain't no justice been served," Johnson's cousin, Mike Allen, said.

Allen and other relatives are not giving up. They plan to go around neighborhoods, hand out fliers and talk to people, hoping to help police find leads.

"It's just very hard for them to believe that someone didn't see anything that night or see anything suspicious in that area," Fayetteville police spokeswoman Jamie Smith said.

Fayetteville had 78 homicides over the past five years; police have solved all but seven.

Fayetteville investigators urge anyone with information about the Johnson case to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at
