Two Men Apprehended In Wake County Chase

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two suspects have been taken into custody after leading authorities on a chase in Holly Springs later Wednesday morning.
  • Video:

The chase started at about 11 a.m. as the result of a drug investigation by the Wake County Sheriff's Office and ended at about 11:20 a.m. when the men jumped from their vehicle and ran into the woods near the intersection of Ten Ten and Holly Springs roads.

They were later captured -- one from the roof of a building -- in the Orchard Knoll Drive area after a foot chase through the woods.

At the time of the chase, several schools in the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

No one was hurt in the chase, although one Wake County deputy was transported to a hospital after having some sort of allergic reaction following the chase through the woods.

Cary police arrested and charged the two suspects with one count each of conspiracy to traffic in marijuana. The suspects, who have temporarily been identified as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, are currently in the Wake County Public Safety Center and are refusing to cooperate with authorities.

They are asking anyone with information on who the suspects might be should contact the Cary Police Department at
