SANFORD, N.C. — Police in Sanford have made two arrests in connection with a cross burning that occurred on Friday.
Adam Benjamin Smith, 17 and Jacob Andrew Pittman, 16, both of Sanford, have been charged with placing a burning or flaming cross on property.
On Friday, authorities said they found a burning cross in the vicinity of Horner Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
Both teens have been released to their parents.
