GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — A father behind a statewide Amber alert is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
Authorities arrested Byron and Linda Reed after they took their 2-year-old twin sons. Investigators say the father threatened the boys' lives when social services tried to take custody of them.
The parents saw the Amber alert on TV and dropped the boys off at a relative's home in Durham.
Byron Reed is charged with communicating a threat. His wife is in jail on a charge unrelated to the case.
