Arrest Made In Series Of Durham Fast-Food Restaurant Robberies

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police arrested a man accused of robbing or trying to rob six fast-food restaurants in the past week.

Samuel Melvin Sr., 51, faces several charges including armed robbery.

Melvin is charged with robberies/attempted robberies at several locations:

  • Bojangles, 2801 Guess Road
  • Burger King, 1200 West Club Boulevard (twice)
  • Cookout, 3624 Hillsborough Road
  • Hardee's, 3912 North Duke Street
  • Wendy's, 3527 Hillsborough Road
  • Officers caught up with Melvin Thursday at Cross Creek Shopping Center on Guess Road.
