WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A sinkhole is causing traffic hassles for the morning commute in the Wake Forest area.

A worker for the state Department of Transportation said the sinkhole is located near

Jones Dairy and Chalk Roads

DOT engineers say the sinkhole is six feet in diameter and approximately two feet deep. Officials say at least three cars were damaged by the pothole.

There is no word what caused the road to open up. It should be repaired later Friday afternoon.
