More than 100 people left early Friday morning from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cary in hopes of helping Gulf residents recover.

"They are having a hard time. They were caught by something that they didn't really expect, so why not help out," said Alex Dolan of Apex.
"Trees have fallen in the houses or around the houses, so we have a lot of chainsaws, a lot of shovels, a lot of manual labor," said Guy Hatcher of Holly Springs.
Over 700 volunteers from eastern North Carolina will be in Mississippi this weekend. The Chainsaw Brigade will head to Hattiesburg to find out where they will be sent.
