RALEIGH, N.C. — Beginning Saturday, the annual registration fees for vehicles jumps from $20 to $28 in North Carolina.
The renewal fee for driver's license also increases from $3.05 to $4.
The N.C. Legislature hopes the increases will generate an additional $158 million in revenue.
