Bootleg DVD Suspects
DURHAM, N.C. — Two people have been indicted on four federal charges of trafficking in counterfeit goods after police uncover bootleg DVDs in their Durham apartment.

Jorge Jesus Caceres Torres, 39, and Felicitas Hernandez Silvestre, 39, were each charged with criminal use of a counterfeit trademark, illegal duplication of copyrighted material and possession of devices to copy a counterfeit trademark.

Investigators confiscated 712 bootleg DVDs and hundreds of labels. Many of the DVDs were in packages with poor quality covers and missing labels. The DVDs included recent movie releases, which should not have been released yet to DVD.

Authorities say a DVD was being burned on a computer when officers entered the suspects' apartment.

Each charge is punishable by up to five years in federal prison.
