RALEIGH, N.C. — The American Red Cross has opened a disaster assistance center in Raleigh to help Hurricane Katrina victims now in the Raleigh area.
The center, which is located on
New Bern Avenue at the corner of Peartree Lane
, is open during business hours Monday through Saturday.
To date, the
Triangle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross
has provided financial assistance for lodging, meals, clothing and other support to nearly 800 families who fled to Raleigh from storm-ravaged areas.
