A 4-year-old girl unsuccessfully tried to save her mother's life after a crash in Mount Olive early Saturday.

<b>MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.</b> — A 4-year-old girl unsuccessfully tried to save her mother's life after a crash in Mount Olive early Saturday.<br />

Investigators said April Hall was speeding down Breazeale Road when she lost control, hit an embankment and flipped her vehicle about 3 a.m. Saturday. She was not wearing a seatbelt and died after being thrown from the car.<br />

Officers said the young girl actually crawled out of the overturned car and went to a nearby home for help. The child wasn’t seriously hurt, even though investigators said they believe she wasn’t in a child safety seat.
