A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a person found inside a burning home in Holly Springs Sunday morning.

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a person found inside a burning home in Holly Springs Sunday morning.

Investigators said James Brewington Jr., 34, faces first-degree murder charges.

According to authorities, Brewington used to live at the home on Sunset Lake Road and Holly Springs Road, but he was no longer in residence there. There is no word on the relationship between him and the unidentified victim.

The victim was found in a back bedroom of the house by authorities after the fire broke out about 2:30 a.m.

State, county and Holly Springs authorities are assisting in the investigation of the fatal fire. There is no word on a possible motive.
