Argument Over $20 Leads To Deadly Wayne Stabbing

A Seymour Johnson airman was killed after a confrontation at his sister's house Sunday evening.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Authorities in Wayne County are sorting out the details surrounding a deadly stabbing involving a military serviceman.

Investigators said Vincent Wright, 43, of Pikeville, went to his sister's house at 105 Kendall Lane at around 11:25 p.m. Sunday after being called about a dispute involving family members.

Authorities said a fight occurred between Jamal Wilson and Dwayne Wright, Vincent Wright's brother, over an allegation that $20 had been stolen. According to deputies, Vincent Wright was stabbed during the confrontation.

Vincent Wright was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Wilson, who is the boyfriend of Wright's sister, has been charged with murder. He is being held without bond at the Wayne County Jail.
