Seven Injured In Head-On Collision In Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating a head-on collision that injured seven people early Sunday morning in Fayetteville.

Police said four passengers were in one car and three in another when a Chevrolet crossed the centerline on

Morganton Road

near Churchill Drive and struck a Toyota at about 3 a.m. Sunday.

Five of the passengers were transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, and the driver of the Chevrolet who crossed the centerline was listed in critical condition Sunday, police said. The injuries of the other passengers were not life threatening, police said.

Police said "numerous alcoholic beverages" were found in the Chevrolet at the time of the accident, but no charges have been filed.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
