Durham Police Say Robbery Was Motive In Deadly Double Shooting

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a deadly double shooting.

Investigators say 28-year-old Tauarus Hamlett and 24-year-old James Webb were shot late Tuesday night outside an abandoned home on Maple Street.

According to police, both men were shot multiple times. They later died at the hospital. Police say robbery was the motive.

At this point, investigators are looking for two suspects. One suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build. The second suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. Neither suspect wore a mask.

After the shooting, both reportedly fled on foot toward East Main Street
