Management officials of The Streets at Southpoint said they met with Durham police Thursday to discuss safety, but refused to discuss the specifics of their talks.
On Saturday, officials said several fights involving as many as 50 people broke out among a large group of teens. The Durham Police Department had t o use 28 officers to quell the violent outbursts.
"This is an isolated incident and we feel very good about going forward," said Courtney Phillips, a mall spokeswoman.
In November 2004, a fatal shooting in the theater's parking lot left one person dead.
Mall managers said that despite the incident Saturday night and the shooting right before the holiday shopping season last year, business has not been affected.
