Oxford Police Arrest Two In Shooting Death

OXFORD, N.C. — Authorities have made two arrests in connection with a slaying in Oxford.

When police arrived at 108-B Forest Avenue early Thursday morning, they found two people with gunshot wounds to the head. Floyd Alexander Anderson, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene. Theron Keydarius Thorpe, 25, was transported to Granville Medical Center and later taken to UNC Hospitals. He is listed in critical condition.

Authorities arrested and charged 28-year-old Tashawnka Wyche with voluntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is at the Granville County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Harith Wyche, Tashawnka's brother, also faces charges in connection with the shooting. He is in jail on $30,000 bond.

Based on preliminary information, police believe the shootings may have been either drug-related or gang-related.
