Robert Petrick In Court 0705
DURHAM, N.C. — Accused killer Robert Petrick is requesting more materials and library time to prepare for his trial.

Petrick is charged with killing his wife, Janine Sutphen. Sutphen, a cellist with the Durham Symphony, disappeared in January 2003. Fishermen found Sutphen's body months later floating in Falls Lake.

Petrick told a judge earlier in the week he wants to represent himself.

He recently filed a court request asking for access to the jail's law library for a minimum of 10 hours a week. He also wants a supply of pens and paper to help in his defense.
