Johnston County Truck Accident
JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were thrown from a pickup truck Friday afternoon after a truck struck a tree near the Johnston and Sampson county lines, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.

At about 5:40 p.m., a truck going south on N.C. Highway 242 South near Godwin Lake somehow lost control of the vehicle and hit the tree, authorities said.

Two people in the bed of the truck were ejected; there were two others inside the truck, but they were not ejected, the Highway Patrol said.

Three people were transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol said the victims suffered lacerations, but should be all right.

No charges have yet been filed.
