Charges Dropped Against Teen Who Drove Getaway Car In Murder

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A teen accused of driving the getaway car in connection with a murder is off the hook.

Charges against Andres Alvarado have been dropped, and he was released from custody earlier in the week.

Last July, Christopher Barnes, Alvarado's boss, asked him for a ride. During the trip, Barnes shot and killed Jeff Williams. Williams was the husband of a woman Barnes was having an affair with.

Barnes was sentenced to life in prison.

Alvarado faces deportation because he is an illegal immigrant.
