RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wilson mother faces murder charges in the death of her infant.

Authorities say Bethany Dakoda Harris died in February 2005. At the time of her death, Wilson police considered her death as suspicious.

After a complete investigation, autopsy results show Harris died as a result of inadequate care following a premature birth and maternal cocaine use.

Jennifer Lee Bedgod, Harris' mother, is being charged with murder. She was placed in the Wilson County Jail without bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
