State Bar Disciplines Attorney Who Sued Cumberland Sheriff For Sexual Harassment

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina State Bar has disciplined an attorney fired from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

A commission ruled that Deborah Koenig, who sued the sheriff for sexual harassment while still representing the office, improperly revealed confidential information about the lawsuit.

Koenig also had a conflict of interest.

The lawsuits, which were filed two years ago, are still working their way through the courts.
