Raleigh To Move To Automated Garbage Collection

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The city of Raleigh is moving to an automated arm to collect garbage.

Beginning in one week, the city will roll out trucks with a mechanical arm to empty residential garbage cans.

The trucks will only have a driver who will not leave the truck, requiring all garbage to be inside the waste containers.

The city expects to use the mechanical arms citywide by early fall.
