Antwan Lewis, 16, drowned at Myrtle Beach in April of 2005 after traveling there for a band competition with Spring Creek High School. <br />

Lewis’ parents filed a lawsuit against the school board, saying it was negligent in ensuring their son's safety and should be held responsible. School officials said the field trip was fully chaperoned.<br />

If Monday’s mediation session doesn’t resolve the dispute, a trial date is set for March 12.
