JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Two teenagers hurt in an ATV crash were not wearing helmets, authorities said.
A brother and sister were riding on the same ATV when it struck a tree Sunday on McLamb Road in Johnston County.
The 13-year-old girl was treated and released from the hospital.
Her 15-year-old brother is at UNC Hospitals with head injuries.
Both are from Harnett County.
An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the ATV crashed into a pond and that injuries to the boy were not life threatening.
