DURHAM, N.C. — Durham Public Schools is being sued.
Gina Vanderberg filed the suit against the school system on behalf of her son, Kejuan Best.
Vanderberg claims a teacher at George Watts Elementary held her son while a student punched him.
The incident allegedly happened in 2003 when the boy was in first grade.
Best transferred to another school.
