RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say a car chase that ended with a woman beaten to death began as an argument between a husband and wife.

According to police, a white sedan driven by Michael Massenburg, 38, was chasing Dujuana Stallings Massenburg, who was driving a red minivan, on Wynewood Drive. Dujuana Massenburg lost control of her vehicle, swerved through the yard and crashed through the side fence.

Investigators said Michael Massenburg then got out of his car and ran to Dujuana Massenburg and beat her until she was dead. She was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.

Michael Massenburg was supposed to be in court in two weeks on assault charges. Police do not know what the Massenburgs were fighting about or even where it started.

Massenburg is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.

Police are still looking for people who may have seen the chase or the murder. Anyone with information should call the Raleigh Police Department at
